LEVEL 4 CERTIFICATE IN STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING 

This qualification is aimed at those trainers who are looking to increase their knowledge and skill set in the area of strength & conditioning. Our course has been developed and designed to provide you with the highest level and up to date education in the topic of strength & conditioning. All of our tutors are experienced S&C coaches, educated to a masters degree level and created this industry recognised course. 

The Active IQ Level 4 Award in Strength and Conditioning is REPs and CIMSPA recognised. This qualification will provide learners with the knowledge and skills to be able to plan, prepare, deliver and review strength and conditioning programmes, that will help athletes to achieve their performance goals.


ENTRY REQUIREMENTS?

Learners must hold a Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training (or equivalent), a Level 3 Coaching qualification (or equivalent) or a Level 3 Strength and Conditioning qualification (or equivalent)

Learners may also hold relevant Higher Education or Further Education qualifications that are equivalent or higher than those listed above (eg. Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy.) 

There is an element of communication (discussing, presenting, reading and writing) involved, and learners should have basic skills in communication pitched at Level 3


WHAT TOPICS WILL BE COVERED?

The role of a Strength and Conditioning Coach as part of an athlete's support team

Methods of carrying out performance-related needs analysis, measurements and assessments

Strategies to analyse and evaluate assessment findings in order to be able to develop and agree short, medium and long term performance goals

Planning, delivering and evaluating periodised performance related strength and conditioning programmes

 


HOW WILL I LEARN?

This is a blended learning course which allows students the flexibility to study theory elements online at a time convenient to them using comprehensive E-resources. There will be 10 days of face-to-face workshops covering all the practical components.

E- LEARNING/VIDEOS

Throughout the whole duration of your course you will provided with a number of online lectures to support your learning. These lectures will contain detailed information around topics related to your assessment and the fitness industry. All lectures will last approximately 60-90mins. You will also have access to a personal tutor along with a closed Facebook group where you can get to know and learn from your peers.

MANUAL

Prior to you attending day one of your course you will be sent your study manual. This manual will become your new best friend over the duration of your course containing all the information you need in order to pass your assessment successfully. This will also be a great additional resource to the E-learning lectures.

ON COURSE

Finally, you will attend 10 study days where you will cover all the practical components related to the job of a strength & conditioning coach. This will also be an opportunity for us to apply all the theoretical knowledge gained through your E-learning lectures and manual


HOW WILL I BE ASSESSED?

WEIGHTLIFTING ASSESSMENT

You will be assessed on your theoretical knowledge and competency in weightlifting. This will be assessed practically in the delivery of correct execution of the following exercises: Back squat. Snatch or clean & jerk.

SPEED/AGILITY/PLYOMETRIC ASSESSMENT

You will be assessed on your theoretical knowledge and competency in speed, agility & plyometrics. This will be assessed practical in the delivery of three separate component each lasting approx 10-12mins.

CASE STUDY

You will be assessed on your competency to plan & prepare effective sessions for S&C. This will be assessed via a case study and professional discussion with your tutor.

PAYMENT OPTION 2

Deposit of £150 on booking + 5 x monthly payments of £220.00

PAYMENT OPTION 3

Deposit of £150 on booking + 8 x monthly payments of £137.50

*All monthly instalments will be taken on the same date of the month as you signed up. For example, if you signed up on the 20th Jan, your payments will come out on the 20th of every month following.
